Frequently asked questions about Carbonwize
Carbonwize is a comprehensive carbon management system that helps organizations calculate, report, and plan greenhouse gas reduction with an easy-to-use system. It automatically connects Scope 1–3 data from water bills, electricity bills, and accounting systems, ready to calculate according to standards and generate audit-ready reports immediately.
Our platform helps reduce the burden on environmental teams, reduce costs, and establish continuous workflows in organizations. Data generated from Carbonwize can be used in sustainability reports and supports long-term Net Zero goals.
Carbonwize also features Decarbonization Pathways to help organizations strategize targeted and measurable carbon reduction, track reduction projects, and manage carbon in the supply chain. Our platform is audit-grade, certified by TGO through collaboration with over 40 VVBs, and backed by the Stock Exchange of Thailand with expert teams guiding every step.
Carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases emitted from activities such as electricity use, fuel use, or waste management. It is measured in tCO₂e and cannot be traded because it indicates actual impact.
Carbon credit is the amount of greenhouse gases reduced or stored through registered projects that meet standards such as T-VER, Verra, or Gold Standard. It is tradable and also measured in tCO₂e. Examples include renewable energy projects, waste management projects, electric vehicle adoption, or carbon storage in forests and agriculture.
In short, carbon footprint measures what is emitted, while carbon credits reflect what is reduced or stored through certified projects.

Start by defining your boundary and scope, and choose a standard such as GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-1, or TGO CFO. Then set a base year/baseline as the reference for comparing future emissions.
Collect activity data that drives emissions—electricity use, fuel from travel and transport, procurement of raw materials, waste management, or supply chain data—and calculate with the basic formula Activity Data × Emission Factor (EF) using EF from trusted databases like TGO or IPCC. Prepare the report and verification-ready data; accuracy here underpins reliable sustainability reporting and communications to customers, investors, or regulators.
For teams starting out, Carbonwize experts can guide you, and the platform automates carbon-footprint calculations and generates audit-ready reports immediately—no manual formulas required.
Carbon footprinting is grouped into three scopes to cover all sources of greenhouse gas emissions—both direct and across the supply chain.
Carbonwize supports all three scopes with automated data capture from utilities, fuel, accounting systems, and supply chains, cutting manual work and improving data accuracy.
Corporate carbon reporting should follow accepted standards so collection, categorization, and reporting remain accurate, transparent, and verifiable long-term. Commonly used standards include:
The Carbonwize platform supports all three standards, helping organizations create accurate, transparent reports for TGO, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, customers, and partners locally and internationally. The system also outputs reports in Thai and English for confident use in every context.
